Welcome to Box Mountain Wood Products

Box Mountain Wood products was founded in Cochrane Alberta in 1974 by Janice and Rick Hogg. This determined and lively young couple combined with a quickly growing province did well and the company thrived. Seeking a quieter life, the company was moved to Nakusp B.C. in 1983 and named after the mountain on which is still resides, Box Mountain. Within this small community the company has continued to thrive. To this day local homes still display the enduring beauty of cabinetry installed over 30 years ago.

After years of experience within this company and other carpentry companies, Thorne--Rick and Janice's youngest--headed off to a Fine Furniture and joinery program on Vancouver Island. They graduated the course with salutatorian of their class in 2012 and eventually returned to become an integral part of BMWP. Since then the company has worked across the provinces of B.C. and Alberta. Our work has never been limited to furniture and cabinetry but this where we prefer to be. We have also laid our fair share of hardwood floors, installed trim, built and tiled kitchens, bathrooms, and showers ... we have framed homes and decks and laid countless laminate countertops. These days we focus on the finer side of life; fine furniture and luxury finishing is where we excel. We also enjoy working with local industries to make specialized equipment. There is a lot of experience and knowledge within our company and we want to make the best of it.

It must be said and it is of upmost importance, our customers are who make our dreams come true. From small jobs to big jobs, a company is nothing without its customers. As a small business, as any business should, we value and appreciate the sharing of ideas and the creation of functional art in collaboration with our customers.
